Sommelier / Owner
Prior to helming iggy’s beverage program and serving as owner Matthew Poli spent the past four years as head sommelier and beverage director at Blackberry Mountain. A Chicago native, Poli began his hospitality career at Chicago’s popular The Publican in 2008, where he rose through the ranks to be named Assistant Manager. After six years at The Publican, Matthew left his hometown to travel west to James Beard Award-winning, Frasca Food & Wine in Boulder, CO, under the tutelage of Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey. In 2016, Poli moved to Nashville to work alongside his brother, Ryan Poli as beverage director of The Catbird Seat.
iggy’s focuses on freshly made pasta, a concise and diverse wine program with classic cocktails and spritzes, as well as offering raw pasta, prepared sauces, preserves and cheeses to be sold to go. The restaurant is located at 609 Merritt Avenue, Suite 101, Nashville, TN 37203, and is also helmed by Poli’s brother, Chef / Owner Ryan Poli.
